All Called To Christ
Area Catholic Community Planning Council

Strategic Plan
December 31, 2019

Over the past few months, members from the All Called To Christ (ACC) Area Catholic Community of St. Anthony, Christ Church Newman Center, Holy Spirit, St. Augustine, St. John Cantius, and St. Mary’s Cathedral have worked on acquiring data, discussing issues, and facilitating the voices of parishioners in order to create a strategic plan for submission to the Diocesan Planning Office.

The ACC Planning Council structured the goals and visions around the “7 Elements of a Vibrant Parish”: Word, Worship, Evangelization, Community, Service, Leadership, and Stewardship. This plan is not all-encompassing; rather, it is an organic, fluid document to guide the ACC through its parish structures, councils, and leadership in future decision-making.

Update on Diocesan Planning

*Though COVID-19 impacts so many things, the work of the Church goes on as we look to the future. You are encouraged to go to your parish's website to review the Plan recently approved by Bishop Kettler for the All Called to Christ Area Catholic Community. The plans for all 29 ACCs in the Diocese will be posted on the diocesan site at the end of April. We will plan some kind of input session and discuss next steps soon. I initially planned to include the Plan and Bishop's letter in the bulletin, and we may still do that after the virus settles down, but the Web is one way to get it out for your review with our lower attendance and the distractions of the day.

*During the week of Oct. 8, 2018, clergy from across the diocese gathered in Alexandria for their annual clergy conference. As part of the discussion, Brenda Kresky, diocesan planning director, unveiled a preliminary draft of the 2019 pastoral plan. Bringing together input collected from listening sessions across the diocese over the past year, the plan proposes the creation of Area Catholic Communities. * On April 25, 2018, members from our 3 cluster parishes gathered to attend a presentation led by Brenda Kresky. Attendees gathered into small groups, and provided feedback and suggestions on what they would like to see happen as future decisions are made in the Diocesan planning process.

This document is a summery of that meeting:
